Fun
How about a quick game of 20 Questions?
And this just in from "News of the Weird": You've heard of the iPod. Well here's the Die-Pod.
Journals in Instructional Design and Technology
Here is a link to my list of the best journals (scholarly periodicals) in instructional design and technology (IDT). Most of these are not available online. There are online journals out there, but at this point most of the best journals are not online yet. There are exceptions.
These are the journals in which you will find peer-reviewed scholarly articles. Most of these journals are in our and any reasonably well-stocked university library.
Here is another list--an export from my database of journals.
Synchronous Tools
Synchronous (same time) tools are those that enable communication in real time. Telephones, instant messaging, chat, video and audio-conferencing are all synchronous tools. Here are a couple of links: Course management tools : a draft report and review from North Carolina State U., and a comprehensive review from U. South Florida. Skype is a fairly new tool.
Optional: if you'd like to see/hear a recorded presentation reviewing some synchronous tools, here's one from Robin Good (using Macromedia Breeze). The presentation is a bit too long, but gets the point across.
