Flash Skills Test

You will complete a basic skills test using the authoring tool Macromedia Flash. You will have two hours total to complete this test.

Here are the skills you will demonstrate:

  1. Create a basic shape tween, turning a large letter into a large number.
  2. Create a button to cause an audio file to start playing audibly when clicked, and then stop when clicked. I will provide the audio file.
  3. Create a .FLA file with three scenes. Create a series of three buttons which serve as a "navigation pane" to navigate to the scenes. Each of these three buttons should have an "over" state and a down state.
  4. Create a simple slide show with three slides, and some text and an image on each slide.
  5. Publish the above slide show .FLA file within an HTML page (as a SWF) and as a stand-alone application (as a .EXE on Windows or a .HQX on Mac).

Note that some (and perhaps all) of these tasks can be combined into one .FLA file, but this is not required.
