Target Audience and Purpose:
This tutorial project was designed for a high school Art & Technology course that includes Photography, Videography, and Computer Graphics.

During most semesters, this course is offered to a maximum of five advanced art students. The course is taught during the same class period as another advanced art class, either Sculpture & Ceramics or Drawing & Painting. The darkroom is located quite a distance from the art classroom which creates a logistical problem in instructing the students in how to develop and print photographs.

With this tutorial, Art & Technology students will be able to work through the information on their own, even at home, if necessary. They can go back to review any areas of difficulty.

The Presentation:
All pages have been created with a background watermark with an image of a strip of film on an aqua field. Five buttons are available on every page after the title page. These include:
END - A button that will end the slide show.
Home (House Icon) - A button that will return the user to the beginning of the slide show.
Return (A U-shape with an arrow at the right end) - This button will take the user to the last page viewed.
Back Arrow - Returns the user to the previous page.
Forward Arrow - Send the user to the next page.

The Table of Contents page lists all of the sections of the presentation and contains hyperlinks to each section.

The Introduction describes the purpose of the tutorial. The participant can advance by either clicking on the link, "Part One", or by clicking on the forward arrow.

Part One - Developing Film
This section consists of fifteen slides that provide step-by-step instructions on how to make negatives out of a roll of exposed film. Page numbers are located in the upper right corner. Important terms and instructions are formatted in bold print. On the final slide of the section, the participant has the option of clicking on the phrase, "Part Two", or advancing by clicking on the forward arrow.

Part Two - Printing Photographs
This section contains sixteen slides that provide step-by-step instructions for printing black-and-white photographs. Again, page numbers are located in the upper right corner and the important terms and instructions are formatted in bold print. Rather than repeating the developing instructions several different times, when on slides 11 and 14 of the section, the participant is given the option to go back to slide 24 where the Developing Process begins. On the final slide of the section, a link is provided to go to the review section.

Review
The firs page of the 8-page review section provides instructions for how to participate in the review. Hint links are provided for each question. Clicking on the Hint link will take the participant to the page in the tutorial where the information is located. Participants are reminded that the Return button will take them back to the Review section. Answer links take the participant to pages that contain the correct responses.

The Credits page lists the resources used to create the tutorial.

Areas of Improvement:
It would be helpful to also add video of some of the activities like threading the film onto the reel, agitating the tank, and making a test strip.
