Visit Cow to Cone, a demonstration of how ice cream is made by Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, Inc.. This site uses new Flash streaming video, a technology that debuted in December 2003. Overall the interface is very clever and engaging.

There are many different professional organizations that instructional designers and performance technologists belong to. These organizations offer a wide variety of benefits such as professional development opportunities (e.g., conferences, workshops), and job board postings. Some of the organizations include:

• Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT)
• Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education (AACE)
• International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE)
• International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI)
• International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI)
• American Society for Training and Development (ASTD)
• American Educational Research Association (AERA)
• American Association for Higher Education

Choose one of these organizations (or another one related to your field) to examine, and breifly (100 words or so, total) answer these questions in the discussion forum called "professional organizations":

• What is the focus of the organization?
• How does the organization serve the profession?
• What can you do for the organization?
• What can the organization do for you?

I really enjoy listening to and playing music. Do you? I play acoustic guitar and various percussion instruments, not incredibly well, but for many years. I used to play piano, and hope to take it up again soon. A few months ago I bought a fairly basic keyboard, so we'll see. Here are some of my favorite recording artists. Maybe we have some of these in common.
