AECT Web Presence migration plan

Problem: we need a hosting service that

• is named aect.org
• uses Apache, mySQL, and PHP

The aect.org is registered with network solutions which means we can point it whereever. It's currently pointed to a windows platform hosting service.

aect-members.org is hosted on EZOSHosting and only has a 500mb disk quota. We've run into limits with the numbers of available databases and storage capacity already.

Path:

• we buy an account on bluehost.com
• about $200 for 2 years with domain registration
• 10gb drive space and plenty of bandwidth
• email service (including lists) are part of the service.

Logistically:

• buy (maybe aect-devel.org) for the new host so we have a place to do the development work
• register a new domain name (maybe aect-office.org) to point to the original aect.org site to maintain continuity with the windows based business functionality.
• when the new site is ready, change the pointer at Network Solutions to point to the new host
• fold aect-members.org onto the new aect.org host so we only have one domain and it's on a full service LAMP platform.
