    • Goals should reflect client expectations
    • Everyone must agree on goals (client and designer)
    • Everyone must have a common vision
    • Goals must be aligned or congruent (use authentic assessments)
    • Must be reliable, empirical, self-correcting, iterative
  3. 3 Types of Environment:
    • Classroom
    • Instructional product
    • Large scale system
  4. Formative v.s summative evaluations
    • Formative evaluations: Formative evaluation occurs during the development of the instructional program, assessment, evaluation, curriculum, and so forth.
    • Summative evaluations: Summative evaluation occurs after instructors and/or designers have completed the entire instructional process and made it as effective and efficient as possible. A summative evaluation is generally occurring at the end of a unit or training; it allows instructors or instructional designers to see how well the learners met/understood the learning objectives from instruction.
