Elementary Discussion

The NteQ lesson plan is very time consuming and very detailed. The current lesson plans used are not as complex. Teachers have to be careful when planning in this level. Teachers have to consider the children (as far as what they are capable of doing and skills) and the working environment.

The leeway depends on the school system as well as the administration. The more flexible the administration, the better! If the school is equipped, using the NteQ model would not be a problem. Consideration factors: how many computers are available for students, is the software needed available, can students be given time during school to complete assignments, etc.

NteQ would be effective to use in the classroom given that there are no complicated factors. Special education students may benefit from NteQ given there is appropriate equipment provided to assist with the many different IEPs. (Individual Education Plan)

Middle School Discussion

High School Discussion

  1. The NTeQ lesson plan is more detailed than what we are use to. Teachers are use to filling out a little box with an overview of what is to be accomplished. The NTeQ is more detailed. Once you get use to using the plan it will actually save time in the long run. If you are lucky enough to teach the same grade level and subject year after year your plans are detailed and ready. You can edit as needed.
  2. Tons of leeway!!!! Depending on actual subject area and how often you utilize. Plenty of opportunity to gain computer access through PLATO lab and I cart and library. NTeQ would force you to be organized enough to plan in advance to gain computer access.
  3. Technology can actually make a teachers job easier. The students can research ahead of time. Make concept maps as projects, can help teacher relate to student and allow students to use technology. Use as a building block.
  4. With Special Ed you can incorporate computer programs as activities. Things they can interact with. It depends on the class. Is it ADD or MS??? Can the student function socially???

Working on spreadsheet as we type :) Where do we include the paragraph? On the sheet or seperate?? And yes - I do think it's chapter 7. Heather>>>>>>>Heather, I did my paragraph on a separate document in Word. This is taking way longer than I thought. Good luck! Anne
