REFLECTIONS - CLASS 2
I enjoyed learning more about Powerpoint in class on Thursday. However, I must admit that is was disheartening. I'm a visual learner and most of the powerpoint presentations that I have attended have been quite informative and were not boring or degrading. In trying to learn more about developing an effective Powerpoint presentation, I came across this article. It's very interesting. I will print the first paragraph and you can read the remainder of the article from the link below.
PowerPoint Is Evil
Power Corrupts. PowerPoint Corrupts Absolutely.
By Edward Tufte
Imagine a widely used and expensive prescription drug that promised to make us beautiful but didn't. Instead the drug had frequent, serious side effects: It induced stupidity, turned everyone into bores, wasted time, and degraded the quality and credibility of communication. These side effects would rightly lead to a worldwide product recall.

I also found an interesting Powerpoint tutorial site. See link below:

The information on Presentation Zen is great. The sites give information about how to "spruce up" your Powerpoint presentations and what makes a "bad" Powerpoint presentation. The following link is entitled, Really BAD Powerpoint (and how to avoid it) by Seth Godin. The information will be useful when developing a Powerpoint presentation.

I found an interesting site on Storyboards. Read through the site and view the the graphics. The graphics are displayed under the Portfolio tab. The work is exemplary.
