Desire2Learn
- Desire2Learn is a course management system based out of Canada.
- The company is relatively young, about 10 years old.
- As opposed to other course management systems (including BlackBoard, WebCT, Angel, Moodle and Sakai, tested by me), D2L as it is abbreviated, is one of the few that is designed to be learner centric
- There are over 30 tools that can be used in D2L and these inlcude:
- Content Modules
- Email Communication
- ClassList
- Blogs
- Survey tools
- Course Feedback
- Quizzes
- Discussion Forums
- Competencies
- Rubric
- Dropbox
and many more tool features
- Currently, higher education customers are The University of Arizona, University of Iowa, Minnesota State College & Universities, The University of Wisconsin System and the entire Tennesse Board of Regents system, as well as the Academic ADL Co-Lab. Most of their corporate customers are Canadian companies.
- Desire2Learn also hosts the course management system for their customers.
