We first discussed what are some ideas to get everyone's attention:
- kill switch
- The teacher would ask the class if you hear my voice, clap 2 times
- Be compelling
Classroom Arrangement
- advantages for teachers- monitors are facing towards the teacher
- the teachers can see all the screens
- disadvantage- no contact
What is the difference between Client Software and Server Software?
- Client Software- software installed on your computer
- Server Software- an application that run on a server that go and retrieve information for you
Why use one but not the other?
- Server Software
Good- centralized, use it from anywhere, easily updated, doesn't take up hard drive space
Bad- dependent on uptime and Internet availability
- servers do crash and not quite as "slick"
- Client Software
Good
- personalization
- generally it works faster and better
Bad
- cost $
- takes up hard drive space
- not accessible without your particular computer
- not as easy to update and may cost for an upgrade
- not as easily sharable
Different Types of Servers
- Email Servers-server that delivers email
- Web Servers- computer that sends out web pages
Why you would want a domain?
- Can tag an email address
- Can get free space
Advantages of building a brand?
- service to students
- people associate your domain with you
- self-expression

- Excellent creating newsletter and flyer
- Page Maker- has more functions,better graphics, and easier to manipulate documents
Ways to use software?
- yearbook
- music class flyers for performance

- student almanac
Well-Written Objectives
- Pros- know what will be assessed or what they are going to do
- Cons- performance-based and deals with behavioral issues
The key to writing objectives is the VERB.

- tell you what you are going to be teaching
- gives direction
- gives accountability
- alignment- what you say they need to know, what you teach them, and how they will be assessed
