Meeting 8

Assignments

  1. Complete your lesson plan as described in eCourseware. Be sure to download and follow the examples. Look under "word processing" under "Content" in eCourseware.
  2. Demonstrate progress this week (on the wiki) on your special wiki teaching topic. You could of course finish this now, so you won't have to worry about it near the end of the semester.
  3. Read the rubrics the class created. These were interesting, and somewhat varied.
  4. Read the actual rubric I'm using: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=am68xc9n3sr_9fqxj85r3
  5. Complete all the smaller assignments from Meeting 7

Notes

Grades for the Annotated Resource List should be posted by the time you read this. If your grade is a 0, I don't have your assignment. Overall the grades were good. If you lost points it was because of:

  • non-APA-style citations
  • grammar and/or spelling mistakes
  • obvious copying of the "About" page of a site rather than writing your own description, critique, or recommendation. This happened in a few cases.
  • skimpy or cursory description

Here is an excellent example of a list:

http://www.geocities.com/spot_the_emu/annotatedweblist.doc

Why it is excellent:

  • More extensive review of each site, and a rationale for why she chose it
  • Good selection of relevant sites
  • APA format

Another very good job (except for non-APA style) here: http://writer.zoho.com/public/jay7061/JJ-Annotated-List-of-Internet-Resources-For-Math-Education1/script%5C

Also very good:
