- Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) The mission of the AECT is to provide leadership in educational communications and technology by linking professionals who have a common interest in the use of educational technology and its application to the learning process.
- American Educational Research Association (AERA) AERA is concerned with improving the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry and by promoting the dissemination and practical application of research results.
- Association for Learning Technology (ALT) ALT's aims to promote good practice in the use and development of learning technologies in higher and further education.
- American Psychological Association (APA) The American Psychological Association (APA), in Washington, DC, is the largest scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States and is the world's largest association of psychologists. APA's membership includes more than 159,000 researchers, educators, clinicians, consultants, and students.
- Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). ASCD provides professional development in curriculum and supervision; encourages research, evaluation, and theory development; and disseminates information on education issues ranging from inclusion to parent involvement, learning styles to school leadership.
- American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) ASTD's mission is to provide leadership to individuals, organizations, and society to achieve work-related competence and performance.
- The College Board The College Board conducts professional development programs, forums and conferences, policy analysis, and public outreach. The College Board is a source of information on trends and innovations affecting students, parents, schools, and colleges.
- Education Commission of the States The Education Commission of the States (ECS) is a national organization that offers information about what's going on throughout the country on a host of current issues in education.
- Education Resource Organizations Directory (EROD) Although this is not an organization, it is a valuable search engine that will help you locate more than 2,700 national, regional, and state education organizations.
- International Reading Association (IRA). The International Reading Association serves as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of reading research through conferences, journals, and other publications.
- International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) Founded in 1962, the ISPI is dedicated to improving productivity and performance in the workplace through the application of Human Performance Technology.
- International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). The ISTE assists teachers and administrators in sharing effective methods for enhancing learning through the use of new technologies.
